Our Story
That’s what Vanja said:
“I want only to learn German!”
That’s what Jonat said:
“I want to establish a company in Belgrade!”
That’s what we said 10 years ago when we first met. Oh, well. Life doesn’t stick to our plans. Thank goodness it doesn’t.
And so learning German with the Swiss Guy and founding a company in Belgrade turned into a love story.

Our Engagement
Our first date was at Red Shoes on Ada. That night we had a big thunderstorm and the power went out. That’s when we kissed first.
10 years later. At almost the same date and place on the Ada, “coincidentally” the power went out again.
Why? You can see that in the video.

About Our Occasion
We will not do a traditional Serbian wedding. Most Swiss guests wouldn’t survive that 😊
We like some Serbian traditions, and we will make a good mix between a “wild” Serbian wedding and a “boring” Swiss wedding.
The wedding ceremony is the only part where there is not much difference between Switzerland and Serbia. Ok. I will not buy the bride. But besides that, there are no big differences.
We will get married on the place. The only special thing: For Jonat, there will be a translator.
In Switzerland, it is served course by course. Mostly in small portions. In between, speeches are made and stories told by the fathers, of the two spouses.
Serbs would starve and get bored. In Serbia, there is food from the beginning to the end. A lot of food and drinks! And no speeches.
The first dance is the same in both countries.
But in Serbia, the whole wedding is a party with music. From the beginning to the end. Like in a club. Without any break.
In Switzerland, a wedding is usually quiet. After dinner, a wedding DJ plays music or a classic wedding band. That’s it.
Much easier for the guests in Serbia.
In Switzerland, the wedding couple makes a wish list or gets vouchers, kitchen utensils and other “unnecessary” things for the “new” life together.
In Serbia, money is given as a gift. And with it, the couple pay for the wedding. Otherwise, many could not afford the wedding.
A photographer in Switzerland. Several photographers and videographer in Serbia. Shortly explained.
At the wedding you will be able to buy your best photo printed from the photographer. For a few hundred dinars (a few euros). This may be unusual for our Swiss guests, but it is common here.
We are excited to celebrate our wedding day. Please let us know if you will be able to make it.
In Belgrade. But Where?
